  24. No. It should mean "newlines and spaces significant."

  26. Since one can already imbed codes in PRE sections, the
  27. browsers are already screwing around with the formatting. A line
  28. break primitive makes for messy coding (I sure wouldn't want to
  29. format Shakespeare with it).

  31. I need one of two things:

  33. a) PRE defaults to the proportional spaced font.
  34.  
  35. or
  36.  
  37. b) A primitive (<R> for Roman?) that forces the viewer to use the
  38. proportional spaced font.
